Okinawa Models and Terrain

Models made for the updated Okinawa Virtual Staff Ride (VSR) conducted by the Army University Press' Staff Ride Team.
The program used to create the staff ride is the Bohemia Interactive Simulations program, Virtual Battlespace 3(VBS). Due to the program's constraints, the models are supposed to be low poly with low resolution texture maps. You'll be able to see VBS quality terrain. This is the best it gets.

Unfortunately, VBS does not allow any maps other than the albedo map, so any detail has to be hand painted in, and due to the poly constraints, I have to rely on texturing to make them look like they have depth. VBS also has subpar lighting, so most of the shadows on the model itself are hand painted. It also does not like transparency or what is supposed to be a window or mirror surface. Some extra shenanigans have to be done in Photoshop to make the Bohemia programs read the texture correctly before it can be in VBS.

I think the notes are fairly self-sufficient. I have some other images of the models in the terrain to add, but ArtStation doesn't want to upload them at the moment. I'll try again later.

I had to take some time to color match the curtain with the VBS sky. I had to angle to curtain and then adjust the color.
