Models made for the updated Bzura Virtual Staff Ride (VSR) conducted by the Army University Press' Staff Ride Team.
The program used to create the staff ride is the Bohemia Interactive Simulations program, Virtual Battlespace 3(VBS). Due to the program's constraints, the models are supposed to be low poly with low resolution texture maps.
Unfortunately, VBS does not allow any maps other than the albedo map, so any detail has to be hand painted in, and due to the poly constraints, I have to rely on texturing to make them look like they have depth. VBS also has subpar lighting, so most of the shadows on the model itself are hand painted. It also does not like transparency or what is supposed to be a window or mirror surface. Some extra shenanigans have to be done in Photoshop to make the Bohemia programs read the texture correctly before it can be in VBS.
These buildings were made for our Bzura Staff Ride; I was not in charge of this project but was given these models on top of my (then current) workload. It's been a while since making these, but I believe the palace, corridor and (what I call) outbuildings took about a week and a half total to make and send back to the project lead.
The Walewice Palace model was very large, so I made two versions of this model, one full complex, as seen here, and one where the main and side buildings are separate models. The corridor was not included as a separate model because it only really works for this model whereas the other parts could be reused.
The Starostwo Powiatowe was pretty simple, but I think I had to guess a bit on the backside of the building since I couldn't find any references except for Google Street View
