Normandy Models - Architecture

Models made for various Normandy Virtual Staff Rides (VSR) conducted by the Army University Press' Staff Ride Team.
The program used to create the staff ride is the Bohemia Interactive Simulations program, Virtual Battlespace 3(VBS). Due to the program's constraints, the models are supposed to be low poly with low resolution texture maps. You'll be able to see VBS quality terrain. This is the best it gets.
Unfortunately, VBS does not allow any maps other than the albedo map, so any detail has to be hand painted in, and due to the poly constraints, I have to rely on texturing to make them look like they have depth. VBS also has subpar lighting, so most of the shadows on the model itself are hand painted. It also does not like transparency or what is supposed to be a window or mirror surface. Some extra shenanigans have to be done in Photoshop to make the Bohemia programs read the texture correctly before it can be in VBS.

The Normandy terrains were the first ones I worked on when I was hired back in 2020. I was still adjusting to the model restrictions VBS required, but I did enjoy pumping out the building models. The terrain this was made for was primarily the Airborne terrain, but I believe they were also made for the Utah and Omaha terrains.
